I was just sitting here tonight reading a few white papers I’ve needed to catch up on and had a question pass through my head that I wanted to hear opinions on from some other people. The question:

What is your reasoning for not choosing a product to implement at a customer’s location?

Everyone has their reasons for implementing certain solutions, but you hardly ever hear about why they didn’t choose another option. In the context of this particular question, I am thinking more about security solutions than anything else.

Some of the ideas that crossed my mind were:

• Needlessly complicated to impliment
• Lack of needed features and what were they
• Cost, or complex SKU usage
• Poor support

These were just some examples, but I would love to hear more from other people in the comments as to why they didn’t choose to use a particular solution for their clients.
